And He Rested: Do Saints Keep The Sabbath?

March 8, 2012 | Author: | Posted in Religion

If we are able to believe most of Christianity that we don’t have to keep the Sabbath of the Bible because it’s not specifically re-commanded inside the New Testament, then how should we interpret John here when he says “keep the commandments of Yahweh” if you have no New Testament at that time to look through?

I am here to suggest for you that the Commandments of the first century are identical commandments of the very first century when Yahweh started out and at the same very Commandments here today and that we need to take a look at these things and be sure that whatever Commandments we are keeping that that’s where our love is. Are we keeping the commandments from the doctrines of men?

Are we doing things just because of tradition? Or am i doing things because that’s what the Bible said to do.

Do Saints observe Sabbath keeping? In Revelation 14:12 says this “Here will be the patience of the saints: listed here are they that keep the commandments of Yahweh, and hold for the testimony of Yeshua. This is really important because what he’s saying here that those are in the book of Revelation, the fantastic tribulation, the beast actually goes after those who keep the commandments of

Yahweh and hold for the testimony of Yeshua. Not just those who believe in Jesus but those who keep the commandments, why? Because we’ve already determined that’s the way we show that we love him.

True love is doing what your father asked you to definitely do. I would even submit according to my upbringing, the first time the commandments of God clearly include the fourth Commandment of honoring the Sabbath about the seventh day. What about Romans chapter 14:5? Well let’s sort out some of these verses: 14:5 says this, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers each day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in the own mind.” is this the writer is saying? Is the author stating that literally? Is Paul proclaiming that out of one stroke of his mouth, he admits that “I uphold the law and I maintain the law” while Timothy says it’s perfect and it’s good, and it’s worthy for many doctrine. Also, Is Paul switches gears literally 11 chapters later? He says there how the Sabbath really doesn’t matter you can choose any day you want. Are we to really believe that rabbi Shaul who started and studied under Ghamliel and had the most of the entire Old Testament memorized word for word is telling us as a formerJewish rabbi that we can do whatever we wish, we can choose whatever Sabbath day we would like?
